Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces that his Office set a 40-month record in April, sending $105,433.02 in revenue to the Erie County Comptroller’s Office.

The Civil Enforcement Division is the service and enforcement arm for all civil courts in Erie County.  Re-accredited in 2012, the C.E.D. was the first of its kind to be accredited by the New York State Sheriff’s Association, and has remained so since 1995.  It serves and enforces various legal instruments that center on the collection of money judgments from debtors.

Sheriff Howard credited his hard-working staff, an improving economy and the implementation of new initiatives that have increased the public’s knowledge and awareness of the services his Office provides.  Compared to the same point last year, the C.E.D. has seen a 28% increase in overall cases and a 48% increase in Income Executions, or wage garnishments – which translated into the largest monthly revenue toward the County’s General Fund since December of 2009.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live.
