Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of multiple offenders for Driving While Intoxicated and Narcotics charges by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in separate incidents on Friday night and Saturday morning.

While on patrol in Buffalo as part of the Buffalo Task Force Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz and Detective Emily Nelson-Gerken arrested Garland D. Kyser for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree among other traffic infractions on Broadway near Brighton Ave at approximately 11:00PM.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .13%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets.

While on patrol in the Village of Gowanda Deputies Neil Held and Ryan Rogers arrested Jason E. Ring (23) of North Collins, Timothy J. Yetman (22) of Lawtons, and James Freeman (18) of Gowanda following a traffic stop.  Among other minor charges Ring was charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child and Yetman and Freeman were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.  Both men were in possession of prescription pills not prescribed to them.  All three were released on appearance tickets.

While on patrol on Transit Road between Elma and West Seneca Deputy John Szczepanski arrested Gabriel J. Ohler (22) of East Aurora following a traffic stop.  After failing several Standard Field Sobriety Tests Ohler was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .16%.   Due to the fact that Ohler has a previous DWI conviction this DWI arrest is a felony.  He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in West Seneca Justice Court at a future date.

That brings the total number of DWI arrests that Sheriff’s Road Patrols have made to 119 in 2013.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live.
