Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard is reporting the arrest of a Buffalo resident on Burglary, Criminal Contempt and other penal law charges after an incident in the Town of Grand Island.

On Thursday, June 13th, 2013, at approximately 3pm, Sheriff’s Patrols responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the Town of Grand Island. Upon arrival, a female victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, one Pascual Munoz-Ortiz, age 32, of Busti Avenue, Buffalo, entered her home through a rear window and assaulted her. The victim had a stay-away order of protection against Munoz-Ortiz. He had fled the scene before patrol arrived. An “attempt to locate” was subsequently sent out for Munoz-Ortiz and his vehicle.

Deputies Brandon Stott and Daniel Milbrandt, working the Buffalo Strike Force Detail, located Pascual Munoz-Ortiz a short time later on Royal Avenue, Buffalo. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the Buffalo Police Department.

Sheriff’s Detective Brian O’Hara charged Pascual Munoz-Ortiz with:

Burglary in the 2nd Degree <Class C Felony>
Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree <Class E Felony>
Criminal Mischief – intent to damage property <Class A Misdemeanor>
Assault in the 3rd Degree <Class A Misdemeanor>

Pascual Munoz-Ortiz was transported to the Erie County Holding Center – no bail – he will be arraigned later today in the Town of Grand Island Court.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live."
