Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Clarence man for aggravated driving while intoxicated.  This is the Erie County Sheriff's 174th arrest for DWI in 2013.

Deputy Gene Nati responded to an accident with injury complaint of a vehicle in a ditch.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver, 38 yr. old Kurt Meyers, was intoxicated.  Mr. Meyers was taken into custody and taken to the Erie County Sheriff's Clarence Substation.  Mr. Meyers submitted to a chemical breath test which revealed his blood alcohol content to be .20%, over twice the legal limit.  The high blood alcohol content resulted in a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated.  Mr. Meyers was also charged w/ other vehicle and traffic charges and was released on uniform traffic tickets to a third party returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a future date.  Deputy Nati was assisted by Deputy Kristin Rozycki and the New York State Police.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live."
