The Erie County Sheriff’s Office reports the early morning arrest of an Akron man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Clarence.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz was on patrol on Goodrich Rd. in the Town of Clarence when he observed a vehicle failing to stay in it's traffic lane.

The vehicle was stopped by Deputy Biegasiewicz and upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, the driver, 21 y/o Andrew B. Barden of Indian Falls Rd. in Akron, was found to be intoxicated.

Barden was arrested and charged with DWI and the traffic infraction.  Barden submitted to a chemical breath test which showed a reading of .11% BAC.

The vehicle was towed with a 12 hour DWI hold.

Barden was released to a family member with appearance tickets for the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.

This was the 206th  DWI arrest this year by the Erie County Sheriff's Office.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live."
