The Erie County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Cheektowaga woman for aggravated driving while intoxicated, Leandra's law, drug charges and weapons charges.  This is the 209th DWI arrest by Erie Co. Sheriff's Deputies in 2013.

Deputies Jonathan Hanna and Ashley Vogl were on patrol in the City of Buffalo as part of the Strike Force detail when they observed a car pass a stop sign on West Ave. at Breckenridge St. without stopping.  Upon stopping the car it was found that the driver, 26 year old Nichole Watson, was intoxicated.  Watson was arrested and consented to take a breath test to determine her blood alcohol content.  The test revealed her BAC to be .23%, almost three times the legal limit.

Watson had her five year old child in the car with her which resulted in her being charged with Leandra's law and with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Additionally, she was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Subtance for Lortab pills that she had in her possession and she faces a weapons possession charge for possessing a set of metal knuckles.

Watson was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Buffalo City Court.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the citizens of Erie County for your support! Together, we will continue to make a our community a safer and better place to live."
